Eating Distress North East delivers high quality specialist counselling for people affected by eating distress, support groups for family and friends, a range of workplace training to a diverse portfolio of clients across the voluntary, statutory and private sectors, group sessions pre and post counselling, awareness raising work with young people and professionals, and contributes to academic research into eating distress.

EDNE and Newcastle University have worked closely for several years, with our specialist counsellors working within the Student Wellbeing Service to deliver up to 16 sessions of counselling and psychotherapy to students at Newcastle University.

We are continuing this work into the academic year 2023/24 and are recruiting for a part-time counsellor to work 18.5 hours per week alongside an existing full time role.

NIWE is looking to expand the services it provides for people aged 16+ experiencing eating distress across the North East and is recruiting for a suitably qualified and experienced counsellor to join our growing service. You will have experience of working with people with eating distress and / or disorders and connected issues e.g. sexual abuse, relationship difficulties. Experience of or a qualification in online or telephone counselling is very desirable.
