The posts have a base in EDNE’s premises in central Newcastle, and there is the opportunity for home- or blended-working. Some work from outreach bases in the Newcastle area may also be required.

Eating Distress North East (EDNE) is the only eating distress charity in the region, with a 30 year track record of supporting people with eating distress, and their loved ones. We are recruiting for counsellors to work with clients age 16+ and dealing with issues associated with eating distress / disorders.

We are delighted to be able to offer a part time Counselling post to work with clients age 16+ living in the Gateshead area and dealing with issues associated with eating distress / disorders. These posts are funded by Newcastle and Gateshead CCG, in recognition of the high demand for support and the benefit of early intervention for people with eating problems.

Eating Distress North East delivers high quality specialist counselling for people affected by eating distress, support groups for family and friends, a range of workplace training to a diverse portfolio of clients across the voluntary, statutory and private sectors, group sessions pre and post counselling, awareness raising work with young people and professionals, and contributes to academic research into eating distress.

NIWE is looking to expand the services it provides for people aged 16+ experiencing eating distress across the North East and is recruiting for a suitably qualified and experienced counsellor to join our growing service. You will have experience of working with people with eating distress and / or disorders and connected issues e.g. sexual abuse, relationship difficulties. Experience of or a qualification in online or telephone counselling is very desirable.
