Elements - eLearning
Elements training portal for voluntary organisations offers interactive eLearning courses that you can study in your own time and at your own pace. Each course has been developed with expertise from the teams at Connected Voice, VODA and Northumberland CVA.
There are 12 diverse courses currently available through Elements:
- An Introduction to Volunteering - Learn about what volunteering is, how to get involved, and why organisations might want to work with volunteers.
- An Introduction to Children and Young People's Safeguarding - This course covers the four types of child abuse, signs and indicators of abuse, risks outside the home, when and how to report safeguarding concerns, and resources for further training.
- Getting to Grips with your Charity Governing Document - Learn about the essentials of your organisation's governing document. Learn key terminology, understand the essential contents, and discover the importance of these documents.
- An Introduction to Good Governance: Essential learning for new and existing trustees - Ideal for new trustees or those in need of a refresh on roles and legal responsibilities, and how to achieve board diversity. (Approx. one hour for completion)
- An Introduction to Good Fundraising: Success with grant applications - Help your team to check you have everything in place and prepare an effective funding bid. (Approx. one hour for completion)
- Understanding Your Charity’s Finance - Gain a clear understanding of charity accounts and how to read a balance sheet, essential for good governance and financial decision making. (Approx. one hour for completion)
- Adult Safeguarding Essentials - A free course aimed at staff, trustees and volunteers working in the voluntary and community settings.
- An Introduction to Understanding Climate Change and Taking Action in Your Organisation - A free course aimed at those who want to improve their organisation's carbon footprint and impact on the climate.
- An Introduction to Setting up a Charity - This course provides a comprehensive overview of setting up a charity in the UK. You'll learn how to determine if a charity is the right option for you and you'll gain insights into the key steps involved.
- An Introduction to Cyber Security - This course explores the risks charities and voluntary organisations face from cyber threats and provides practical steps to protect against online crime.
- An Introduction to Volunteers and the Law - This course is designed for organisations working with volunteers and provides an overview of the key legislation and regulations involved.
- An Introduction to Inclusive Volunteering Practice - This training is designed to support VCSE organisations to create more inclusive and accessible volunteer programmes and is especially relevant for volunteer managers and coordinators.
These courses are FREE to VCSE organisations.
Simple clear explanations, plenty of practice with the example to complete but with the guide of the correct answers. Cost was low and fair.
