Hate Crime and Anti-Social Behaviour Strategies - Premium training

In this premium online training you will learn about the research we have been involved in with Durham and Northumbria Universities. You will learn how to use the Hate ID App to understand the impact of hate crime, repeated hate relationships, and more.

This online training is for individuals from the VCSE sector and from the statutory/ public sector

Delivery will be via Teams. A link will be shared with attendees closer to the day of the session. 

This training is perfect for staff working with people over the age of 18, in particular if working in the following areas:

  • housing  
  • adult social care  
  • health and criminal justice  
  • community workers  
  • job coaches  
  • legal advisers  
  • service navigators  

Learning outcomes  

Understanding of-  

  • The needs of diverse communities
  • Community-based tension and strategies to tackle Anti-Social Behaviour (ASB)  
  • The range of hate crimes that exist  
  • Hate relationships and the impact of repeated abuse  

Ability to-

  • Look beyond the obvious when managing risk.  
  • Understand and meet customer’s additional needs  
  • Engage meaningfully with your local ethnically marginalised communities  
  • Use the Hate ID App to identify hate crime and explain the support available to report a crime, challenge or complain  
  • Find solutions with victims of hate crime and ASB that empower them and help them recover.  

Quality assurance

We share learning from our research and stories from victims to train others. Our Advocates have been supporting victims of hate crime since 2017. We are experts in navigating the criminal justice system, making police complaints, and seeking compensation. We work respectfully with people targeted because of their disability, race, faith, sexual orientation and transgender identity.   

This training is part of our premium services range and therefore has a cost to attend. 

The cost per person is: 

£65 for somebody from the VCSE sector

£70 for somebody from the statutory sector or a large organisation. 

There is no limit on the number of people who can attend per organisation, but you may be interested in our group tailored training instead. Please contact advocacy@connectedvoice.org.uk for prices.
