Gateshead Council's Crisis & Resilience Fund (CRF)

The aim of the grants programme is for local community-based organisations to develop and then deliver activities and initiatives that will help people and families who are struggling to make ends meet, and improve access to the information, advice and support that they need to become more financially stable. These might include increasing incomes through making sure people are claiming all the benefits they are entitled to, reducing costs by providing access to lower cost food, providing advice on budgeting, cooking on a budget, debt, and energy, and connecting people with other support available in their local community.

The grants available range from £500- £10,000 per year and the grants programme will initially run from 1st September 2026 to 31st March 2028.  

In addition to the grant funding, Gateshead Council is also developing and making available a range of training, tools and partnership building activities for organisations to help build their knowledge and skills to offer these types of support and to strengthen connections and partnership working between organisations.  This grant funding programme is a key part of developing and funding the partnerships and projects that will support the aims of the Gateshead Tackling Poverty Together Partnership, Strategy and Action Plan over the coming years.
