Tell us why being a Haref Ally is important for you and your organisation
It is important to us to reduce the barriers to ethnically marginalised communities accessing our service. We are enthusiastic about strengthening our links with these communities and working together to reduce health risks and inequalities. We value the links being a Haref Ally provides, and the training that is available.
Tell us about anything that you or your organisation has done to improve how you work with ethnically marginalised communities
We are planning a group at a local mosque, focusing on healthy eating for weight loss and Type 2 diabetes. As a team we are committed to increasing our knowledge, skills and resources for working with different ethnic groups. We have also attended Haref Allies meetings, which have provided valuable information and contacts. We are also looking forward to attending the Cultural Competency training.
