Tell us about your organisation/department/project (your aims, what you do, who you work with): NECA provide a range of short and long term treatment options across the North East for those concerned about their gambling as well as friends and family who are affected. The service is free, flexible and confidential, tailoring sessions to individuals needs and providing a holistic approach to gambling and related harms. We provide face to face, telephone, video and group support.

Tell us why being a Haref Ally is important for you and your organisation

We recognise that there can be a number of barriers to individual’s accessing support and want to work in partnership to reduce these.    

Tell us about anything that you or your organisation has done to improve how you work with ethnically minoritised communities

We are currently looking at ways to develop services for individuals from minority communities and to identify any barriers into accessing gambling support. We have worked with local communities to develop resources appropriate to need, eg Chinese Community.
