Meeting theme: Volunteering for Skills and Employment
This support network is for those working alongside and supervising volunteers in the voluntary, community and social enterprise (VCSE) sector within Gateshead.
Our Network offers the opportunity to connect with other volunteer engagement professionals, and provides a space for support and advice, to encourage and promote excellence in volunteering across Gateshead.

- Christine Kennedy, Foundations Furniture. Delivering the Foundations4Work learning programme, complimenting their volunteer pathway.
- Nicholas Liversedge, Connect to Work (Gateshead Council). Neil Pilkington, Working Gateshead (Gateshead Council). Providing employment pathway support for residents, building referral partnerships with the local VCSE sector.
- Tim Critchton, Handcrafted. Supporting accessible skills development to deliver diverse, meaningful, outcomes.

Connected Voice is committed to reducing our environmental impact and want to champion environmental sustainability to all organisations in the VCSE sector.
To reduce the carbon footprint of our events, we would like to politely request that all attendees make the best effort, where viable, to travel to our events in the most environmentally friendly way possible.
- There are bus stops on Whitehall Road (Bus Service Numbers 29, 67, 856, 866, 879)
- There are bus stops on Bensham Road (Bus Service Numbers 53 Voltra, 93, 96, 301 Coaster, 301A, X32)
- The venue is a 23 minute walk from Gateshead interchange, for regional buses and Metro services.
Through the Gateshead Volunteer Centre, we help organisations with all things volunteering. Feel free to get in touch if you'd like a chat about best practices; your volunteering polices, processes, recruitment, induction etc.
We also promote volunteering roles for free on OurGateshead.
You can only book one place for yourself. If a colleague wants to attend, they will need to book separately themselves. When you book, please ensure that you give us all the essential information requested so that we know your registration is genuine.
Our training and events are funded from a variety of sources, allowing us to offer them for free to eligible organisations. Please check the eligibility requirements for each session before signing up.

Attendance and value Our staff dedicate significant time and resources to create and deliver an excellent range of training and events free of charge. We ask that you make an effort to prioritise attending our training once you have registered, and let us know as soon as possible if there is a barrier to you attending.
