Event venue: One Strawberry Lane, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 4BX

Are you a VCSE organisation who interacts with the public or may be faced with difficult interpersonal situations with your beneficiaries?  This Conflict Management workshop with SAFE looks at verbal & non-verbal communication, how to ‘spot the signs’ as a situation begins to escalate, de-escalation techniques and the legalities around self-defence. This session will equip you with tools to help minimise the risk of conflict.

The session will also raise awareness of the impending Martyn's Law (the Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025), as it officially comes into force in Spring 2027.  We will look at the upcoming changes required for venues to prepare and respond in the event of a terror attack.

 The workshop will cover:

  • Managing difficult interpersonal situations
  • Learn different conflict‑management styles
  • Identify early warning signs of escalation
  • Verbal and non‑verbal communication
  • Reduce risk & practice de‑escalation techniques

You can only book one place for yourself. If a colleague wants to attend, they will need to book separately themselves. This training is limited to a maximum of 2 people per organisation. When you book, please ensure that you give us all the essential information requested so that we know your registration is genuine.
