Bid-Writing for Volunteer Programmes Training
This training is for volunteer involving organisations in Newcastle and Gateshead.
Does your organisation involve volunteers in your work, and do you struggle writing successful funding bids to cover the costs of your volunteer programmes?
This bespoke bid-writing for volunteer programmes training session has been designed with our Volunteer Coordinators Networks in Newcastle and Gateshead in mind and will focus on bid-writing specifically for volunteer-involving projects.
The training will take you through the key practical steps in describing the essential elements of your volunteering project, to tell funders what they need to know.
You will also get a chance to talk to a representative of the Greggs Foundation. They are a local funder are happy to support some volunteering related costs in their core-cost grants programmes.
Through a mix of interactive presentations and group activities participants will learn:
- How to plan effectively in order to write successful bids.
- To have a better understanding of what funders expect from volunteering-based applications.
- To gain greater confidence in how to articulate your project to a funder including impact reporting.
- How to make bid writing a less daunting process, and how to build it sustainably into your role

- The venue is a 10 minute walk from Monument Metro
- There are several City Centre bus links that are walking distance e.g. Central Station, Monument and Eldon Square
- The Q1 QuayLink bus service runs close to the venue
- There are two accessible parking spots in from of the Castle Keep main entrance. these are free and are for blue badge holders only
You can only book one place for yourself. If a colleague wants to attend, they will need to book separately themselves. This training is limited to a maximum of 2 people per organisation. When you book, please ensure that you give us all the essential information requested so that we know your registration is genuine.
Our training and events are funded from a variety of sources, allowing us to offer them for free to eligible organisations. Please check the eligibility requirements for each session before signing up, as this varies.
