VCSE Alliance Gateshead and Newcastle
What is the VCSE Alliance?
The VCSE Alliance was founded and is led by Connected Voice and brings together more than 150 organisations across Newcastle and Gateshead to strengthen the VCSE sector and improve access to NHS North East and Cumbria ICB funding for predominantly small and medium-sized health and wellbeing organisations.
Since April 2024, we have secured almost £1.5 million and, to date, have invested a portion of this funding in 24 organisations, enabling them to pilot innovative mental health and neurodiversity support for children, young people and young adults. This work is helping to address local needs and improve outcomes.
We are also leading the WorkWell programme across Newcastle and Gateshead, working with the NHS, local authorities and VCSE partners to support people whose health is affecting their ability to find, return to or remain in work. Through personalised support, WorkWell helps individuals overcome health-related barriers to employment and improve their wellbeing.
In line with the Marmot Principles and Neighbourhood Health approaches, we believe that health is shaped by more than healthcare alone. By working in partnership with statutory and community organisations, we are helping to build stronger, healthier and more connected communities where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.
