We are looking for an experienced Violin Tutor to lead weekly music sessions in Gateshead. Our aim is to improve relationships and understanding through positive shared experiences, your sessions will be inclusive, fun and community focused.  Ideally you will have previous experience of teaching or experience or experience of working in community settings, and be familiar with, or happy to incorporate, different musical styles including those from a wide range of cultures to reflect the interests of our members. This post is funded by the National Lottery Community Fund.

Crossings Community Group provides opportunities for migrants, refugees and asylum teachers to integrate into the communities in which they live. We use music and songwriting to build relationships within the group and wider community. Our weekly social music sessions are a safe space, free from discrimination, where people can learn, make friends and express themselves through music. Over the years we have grown and developed into a vital place of joy and support for many people living in the Newcastle Gateshead area.
