Support into Volunteering - Referrals welcome
Professionals can refer individuals who have barriers to volunteering. The service can support any individual with an identified additional need.
We work closely with each person to make sure the opportunity is right. The individual will be matched with one of GVC staff, who will meet with them once their referral has been approved. They will be asked about their skills, interests and support needs.
- Our staff will aim to share at least three volunteer opportunities with that individual that are a good match for their volunteering goals. Once confirmed, we will organise a meeting to introduce the resident to their chosen volunteering organisation. Our staff may also work with the organisation’s volunteer coordinator to make reasonable adjustments to the role.
- To note, if the individual can independently identify opportunities, has internet access and feels confident online, is able to travel to and from volunteering roles, and can take part without any barriers, please direct them to OurGateshead's volunteer opportunities to search for and select a suitable opportunity.
