Nick Kemp confirmed as Newcastle City Council's Labour leader

Long serving Byker Councillor, Nick Kemp, was agreed as the Newcastle Labour Leader on Monday 14 March. This means that Cllr Kemp is due to succeed Nick Forbes when he steps down as Leader of Newcastle City Council in May. Nick Forbes has been Leader for 11 years and a Councillor for 22, so this is a major change for the City. We plan to arrange a session for the new City Council Leader to meet with VCSE (voluntary, community and social enterprise) organisations and talk about plans and priorities once the post is confirmed, following the May elections.
