Small Charity Spotlight: Silverline Memories
This week is Small Charity Week 2026. To celebrate, each day we're going to feature a small charity and tell you about the amazing work that they do. Today's small but wonderful charity is...
Silverline Memories
Silverline Memories believe that dementia should not stop people living the lives they deserve. Their mission is to bring joy into the lives of people living with dementia by providing places to go and things to do.
The charity was founded in 2013 by CEO Sandra, who works alongside staff and volunteers to support people living with dementia to live life to the full. Based out of Kenton Retail Centre, they support over 170 people who have been affected by dementia every year.
When visiting the Silverline Memories Activity Centre, the first thing you notice is how homely, colourful and welcoming the space feels. The passion behind the charity is evident, and if you ever have the opportunity to hear the Jubilee Dementia Choir singing, they will bring a tear to your eye!
At Silverline Memories they believe the enjoyment of life should not end with a diagnosis and as a testament to their incredible work they have recently been named Company of the Year for Dementia Support Services at the UK 2026 Excellence Awards!
Silverline Memories weekly offer is:
☑️ Monday: A varied timetable including Music for the Mind, arts and crafts, speakers and coffee, cake and a natter!
☑️ Tuesday: Jubilee Dementia Choir
☑️ Wednesday: Men’s Group – a varied timetable 'just for the fellas!'
☑️ Thursday: Day Service – Mix of activities including game days and entertainers; they also provide lunch.
☑️ Friday: Feel Good Friday, with seated exercise and dancing!
Alongside their regular programme of activities, Silverline Memories organises day trips, theatre visits, and pub meals – anything that will bring joy into the lives of people living with dementia.
