NJC 17-20, (£24,491 - £25,991 – pro rata)

Young carers deserve the same opportunities as all children. Our aim at Newcastle Carers is to reduce the negative impacts of the caring role, using a whole family approach. This is an exciting opportunity to work with young carers to empower and enable them and their families to achieve positive outcomes.

Newcastle Carers is seeking a self-motivated person who has experience of working with children and young people with challenging family circumstances. We are looking for a person who really enjoys working with children and their families. The ability to build trusting relationships with sensitivity and an empathic approach is essential in this role.

You will work as part of a supportive and committed team to provide information, advice and support to young carers and their families. This will include identifying needs by undertaking young carers assessments, led by the young person and their family. You will then work with them to get appropriate and timely support, and to help children/young people achieve their full potential/aspirations. The role will primarily involve casework but you will also support some group work.
