We are looking to recruit full-time, part time and sessional advocates to join our highly motivated and experienced advocacy team. We provide high quality independent advocacy to support people with a range of health and social care needs. Independent advocates can support both community and statutory advocacy services. They provide a range of advocacy support in relation to health and social care needs under the Mental Health, Mental Capacity and Care Acts, and advocate for clients in the community in vulnerable circumstances.
You will be responsible for providing advocacy to clients in their own homes, residential, health or hospital settings and other suitable community venues. You will do this either by travelling to meet your client face to face or, when appropriate, remotely. You will also work closely with other members of the advocacy team to ensure a high-quality advocacy service.
Experience and qualifications in advocacy are preferred, however training post(s) will also be considered for the right candidate(s). A training post would provide an incredible opportunity for the right candidate and would include fully funded training to achieve a level 4 diploma National Advocacy Qualification.
Please note:
• If you are offered a full or part time post and you do not already hold the Independent Advocacy Qualification (IAQ), it is a requirement that you complete the IAQ within 18 months of starting in the role. This qualification will be funded by Your Voice Counts. Some self-study should be expected.
• Due to working with vulnerable people and into protected care settings, it is a requirement that the job holder can evidence that they are COVID vaccinated (i.e. double vaccinated and booster) unless medically exempt.
