Introduction to Safeguarding

This tailored training session is ideal for an organisation or department-wide session. It is designed specifically for voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, with scenarios and case studies tailored for the services your organisation provides.

Learning outcomes: This session covers the key issues around safeguarding adults and children that charities, community organisations and social enterprises need to know about. By the end of the session participants will learn:

  • How to recognise and report abuse or harm;
  • understand the importance of responding to safeguarding concerns;
  • and feel able to begin making safeguarding part of day-to-day activities.

Who for: Introduction to Safeguarding is perfect for new staff and volunteers, those in need of a refresher, or as an organisation-wide session delivered once you have introduced or updated your Safeguarding Policy. Remember our team can assist with your policies too.

Quality assurance: This training was initially designed for the Safer Culture North East partnership which was funded by DCMS and The National Lottery Community Fund. Connected Voice is a member of the Newcastle Safeguarding Children and Adults Boards and Gateshead Safeguarding Adults Board.

Working with Connected Voice has been invaluable. We’ve been able to organise our group ready for the next step. The safeguarding training was incredibly insightful and has given us more information than we thought we needed and this goes for all the training we’ve attended so far. Every single one has been educational and chilled out with no pressure and has also connected us with so many other wonderful groups and charities
