Sir James Knott Trust

Grants are available to charities in the North East of England to help improve the conditions of people living and working in the North East of England. Grants are awarded in the areas of the arts and culture; service charities; public services; housing; heritage; health and sport; education and training; environment; and community issues and events.

No minimum or maximum grant amount is stipulated. Grants totalling about £1.8 million a year are made, funded from investment income.

For the 'Under £1,000’ scheme the average grant is £700 and for the ‘Meeting’ grants the average is £4,500.

The Trust meets three times a year. Applications can be sent at any time but will not be considered until the next meeting
