1 June marks the beginning of Pride Month worldwide. Here at Connected Voice we’re taking the opportunity to highlight how we support LGBT+ individuals, communities and organisations in variety of ways. We also want to provide a platform for two local LGBT+ organisations that we work with to showcase their own work and talk about their experiences of working with us.
We’re starting with a blog from LGBT+ Northern Social Group about their journey to becoming a registered charity, and some of the challenges they have faced.
Alongside the blogs, we’re excited to unveil a special Pride Month logo that we have developed in line with the Pride Progress flag. You can read more about the meaning behind the brand in our latest blog.
If you're planning your own Pride events in Newcastle and Gateshead, then tag us on Twitter @ConnectedVoice_ for a retweet.
14-20 June is Refugee Week and we wanted to share our spotlight on Haref Network Member, Rainbow Home, who provide support for people who are seeking asylum who are LGBT+ and living in the North East.
We also have a new blog from Connected Voice Advocacy about their support for people from LGBT+ communities, which includes a personal story from Chris about how they were supported through our Health and Care Advocacy service.
