Connected Voice Haref have an exciting opportunity for a proactive, enthusiastic and experienced person to help deliver our work to improve health inequalities for Black Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities in Newcastle and Gateshead. This role will lead on the engagement work for Haref by developing and maintaining relationships with a diverse range of BAME and migrant communities, groups and organisations.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Haref Coordinator, the voluntary and community sector and other public sector organisations to support the Haref Network about issues relating to BAME health and service accessibility.
You will have a good understanding of the challenges and benefits of working with different communities, and an appreciation of community development work, particularly with people from minority / marginalised groups. You will be an experienced candidate with a proven track record of results in this field of work and have established links into community activities.
During the COVID-19 pandemic you will be working both remotely and in the Newcastle city centre office base. This will be until we feel it is safe to fully return to the office.
The post is for 21 hours a week on a fixed term contract until 31 March 2022
