About the Food Newcastle Partnership
Newcastle Foodbank want to recruit a Coordinator for Food Newcastle Partnership (FNP) and invite suitably experienced, competent, and motivated people to apply by application if interested in this post. The Food Newcastle Partnership is a network of local public agencies, businesses, academics, NGOs and individuals, who recognise the key role food can play in dealing with some of today’s most pressing social, economic and environmental challenges. The Food Newcastle Coordinator will be employed and managed by Newcastle West End Foodbank to implement the Newcastle Good Food Plan and support the operations of the 6 thematic sub-groups and related activities.
The Partnership is taking a strategic and collaborative approach in transforming our food culture and food system through the delivery of our local framework – the Newcastle Good Food Plan. The Coordinator role will focus on engaging our stakeholders to help grow the joint vision for our city and turn the Newcastle Good Food Plan into reality. Following our Sustainable Food Places Bronze award, our aim is to continue to build our food-centred partnership and successfully bid for Sustainable Food Places Silver award status in 2024. We want to ensure the Newcastle Good Food Plan is delivered by encouraging active participation from local partners and sectors to deliver across our six key themes
Job Role
The Coordinator role is focused on engaging with stakeholders to help grow the joint vision for Newcastle’s Good Food Plan. The successful candidate will drive the continued development and purpose of the Food Newcastle Partnership by supporting the design and delivery of effective food policies for Newcastle and ensure a strategic and effective response to food insecurity is in place
Central to the Coordinator role will be to continue to build the existing food-centred partnerships and coordinate a bid for Sustainable Food Places Silver award status. The Coordinator will lead the continued development and delivery of the city’s strategic sustainable food action plan, the Newcastle Good Food Plan.
Based at Newcastle (West End) Foodbank in Benwell, this post will involve travel at local and regional level, with an occasional requirement for national travel. There may be some scope for remote working.

Job Satisfaction
You will be working as part of an innovative and inspiring Partnership team. This post is located at the Newcastle Foodbank who will manage the Coordinator role and work performance. The salary is circa £30,000 per annum pro rata (dependant on experience), with 25 days annual leave and bank holidays allocated pro-rata.
