NECA's community garden in South Shields provides a welcoming and safe place to encourage visitors and volunteers of all ages to come together by growing fruit, flowers and vegetables and through taking part in activities and events. The garden helps to reduce food insecurity by growing food and providing low cost / free fruit and vegetables to the local community and those most in need. They also help improve resilience by promoting gardening, sustainable living and healthy eating and providing skills and support to local residents in growing fruit and vegetables.
